BLACKPOOL’s famous Funny Girls plan to go on tour this autumn with an appearance in Bradford. The original drag comedy show is earmarked for St George’s Hall on October 1 in a presentation rescheduled from May 28.

A spokesman said: “There is no show in the world that glorifies first-class entertainment quite like the world-famous Funny Girls. Blackpool is synonymous with entertainment and Funny Girls has been a Blackpool staple since the very first night, that unforgettable 4th of July 1994, but the show is now coming to Bradford on its first-ever UK tour!

“Big laughs, up-tempo exciting singalong routines and theatrical classics with a hilarious twist, make Funny Girls the epitome of a show-stopping extravaganza.

“Packed full of elaborate dance and laugh-out-loud comedy routines, it features a selection of highly-talented drag leads and male entertainers. And the rhinestones aren’t the only things that make Funny Girls sparkle, there’s also the stunning costumes and headdresses!”

The Funny Girls have been at the Royal Variety Show twice and on television numerous times, alongside their six-nights-a-week show in Blackpool for the past 25 years. Recommended age for Funny Girls is 16-plus.

Planned for St George’s Hall on October 22 is tribute show The Elvis Years: The Story of the King, which has been rescheduled from April 11.
