VOLUNTEERING is not just for lockdown.
That’s the message from Rotary – which says that whilst many people with new-found time due to furlough have been able to help-out in communities, volunteering will be critical longer-term as the nation adapts post-Covid-19.
“The coronavirus crisis has brought out people’s altruistic side and many have given their time – but more challenges lie ahead,” said a spokesman.
“Volunteers will have a vital role to play moving forward to help and support those most in need.
“Many people will rely heavily on charity and wider support services.”
