AN OLDFIELD man has written a song to help raise cash to feed NHS workers.

David Roper has put his song, entitled Clap for the NHS, on YouTube and hopes people will clap along to it on Thursday evenings.

Mr Roper said: "I thought we could all do with a little cheer up, and let's see if we can raise some funds for a much-needed cause."

Proceeds will go to Feed NHS, a national fundraising campaign that features the Baked Potato Song written specially by Little Britain comedian Matt Lucas.

Proceeds help give one healthy meal each day to NHS workers who cannot return home to their family after long shifts, instead self-isolating in nearby accommodation with no access to cooked meals.

Type Sweetkeys88 into the YouTube search box to find the song. There is a JustGiving link alongside for anyone wishing to make a donation.
