PEOPLE in Whitchurch and the surrounding areas were able to enjoy McDonald’s once again as their local branch of the fast-food franchise re-opened on Wednesday morning.

The restaurant, in Wrexham Road, has partially re-opened alongside hundreds of McDonald’s across the UK to offer drive-thru services.

A decision was made to re-open all drive-thrus after a successful pilot last month.

Many new restrictions are in place to protect staff and customers from COVID-19, including reduced hours and menus at many restaurants.

Social distancing has been introduced in the kitchens and service areas to help create a safe working environment for restaurant teams.

Perspex screens are in place at drive-thru windows, and employees are wearing personal protective equipment.

All McDonald’s employees will be asked to confirm they are fit and able to work and contactless thermometers will be used to take employee temperatures on arrival at work for every shift.

There is also a spending limit of £25 per vehicle being encouraged, and contactless payment methods are also encouraged.
