DOLLY Parton’s hit song 9 to 5 became a comedy film in the 1990s then in more recent years a musical. The show was revived recently in the West End and was due to head out on tour before the coronavirus pandemic.

The show has now been given new dates for appearances in West Yorkshire: Bradford Alhambra from November 9-14 this year and Leeds Grand from June 21-26 next year.

Audiences can, to paraphrase the title song, tumble outta’ bed and stumble to the theatre to see why the show gained five-star reviews and sold-out houses in the West End.

9 to 5 The Musical tells the story of three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the women manage to reform their office – or will events unravel when the Chief Executive pays an unexpected visit?

A spokesman said: “With an Oscar, Grammy and Tony Award-nominated score by the Queen of Country herself, Dolly Parton, and a book by the iconic movie’s original screenwriter Patricia Resnick, this hilarious new production is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business!”

Age guidance is 12-plus for a show containing comic sexual references, light drug use and the occasional curse word.
