THE IMBECILES will return to the live circuit this autumn with a gig at the Royal Park Cellars in Leeds on November 14.
The band released their self-titled debut album and single Decider early this year in advance of a tour, which had to be postponed due to coronavirus.
Classic Rock magazine said of the album: “If wire were dragged across concrete and then mangled by barbed wire at the Tex-Mex border, the result might be this enigmatic Anglo-American band’s debut.”
The latest single One Hand Tommy is described as a blitz session of blood-curdling vocals, disarticulated fretwork and wickedly deranged lyricism.
A spokesman said: “The album comprises 13 imploded songs which rarely last more than two minutes, and was recorded on tape in eight deranged days on the Texan-Mexican border. It is packed with stripped-down musical information and resonant with atmosphere.”
