A GROUP has cycled from Keighley to Leeds and back to raise desperately-needed funds for Manorlands.
Airedale Hospital colleagues Jennifer Pash, Julia Silson, Tracy Weatherall and Paul Weatherhead – and Jennifer’s husband Dan, who works for Incommunities – braved a range of weather conditions to complete the 40-or-so miles, along the canal towpath.
They set-up an online fundraising page – at justgiving.com/fundraising/Team-Goldline-Cycle – and have raised over £1,000 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
“We all completed the ride and enjoyed it – although it was tough at the end!” said Jennifer.
“We’re really pleased with the amount raised.
“Along the way we encountered every type of weather, including torrential rain.
“Next year we are planning on doing the whole Leeds and Liverpool Canal route – 127 miles – to raise more funds for Manorlands.”
