YOUNG people across the district are being invited to write a short story based on their views about policing and community safety.
The competition, launched by West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Mark Burns-Williamson, has three age categories – under ten, 11 to 16 and 17 to 21.
An overall winner will receive a £100 online gift card and the best entries will feature on the commissioner’s website and social media accounts.
“One of my key roles is to regularly engage with the public and communities – and young people are a crucial part of that,” said Mr Burns-Williamson.
“I need to understand everyone’s views in order to inform future work and our strategic direction and to ensure policing is delivering across all our communities. I am very much looking forward to reading the entries.”
