EAST Riddlesden Hall will remain closed for the forseeable future despite the partial reopening of other National Trust estates in the region.
The charity has decided the 17th century manor house and its grounds are not suitable to open safely under current Covid-19 restrictions.
National Trust spokesman Laraine Penson said: “At this point in time we can’t confirm when East Riddlesden Hall will re-open.
“Local managers have taken into consideration a number of factors when deciding whether to open, and which areas of their properties should open, including whether it is large enough to maintain social distancing so we can protect public safety as well as considering their own local circumstances.”
The National Trust has asked asking people to keep checking its website for the latest information about reopening.
The charity’s historic houses remain closed but it has reopened outdoor areas at some of its bigger properties in Yorkshire. Visits have to be booked in advance. National Trust car parks on estates like Hardcastle Crags, Brimham rocks and the Yorkshire Dales are open on a first-come first-served basis.
