A MUSIC teacher struck a high note with a marathon charity challenge.
Sean Howe played the drums non-stop for eight hours to raise money for domestic and sexual abuse charity, Staying Put. And his effort, at the Corner House Recording Studio in Keighley, coined-in over £2,000.
“It was quite tough on my body – but now I just want to do another!” said Sean, 35, who teaches in schools for Bradford Music Service.
“A few people have been in touch to say they have used the services Staying Put offers, and that was very moving.
“I know domestic abuse has been a big issue over the last few months and a lot of people have been struggling.
“I wanted to do something to help a local charity and raise awareness.”
Yasmin Khan, for Staying Put, said: “We’re really grateful for Sean’s efforts. He’s done a fantastic job, raising money and increasing awareness.”
The Staying Put freephone helpline is open weekdays from 9am to 5pm, on 0808 2800 999.
Donations to Sean’s effort can still be made at gofundme.com/f/8-hour-drumathon.
