WILSDEN Primary School has received a coveted accreditation for its ‘commitment to excellence’ in science teaching and learning.
It has been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM), which provides recognition across several areas including effective leadership, successful teacher innovation and good practice shared with other schools.
Wilsden Primary was particularly praised for its efforts in making science a core subject across the school.
PSQM national director, Associate Professor Jane Turner, said: “Schools that have achieved a Primary Science Quality Mark have demonstrated a significant commitment to science teaching and learning, even at this challenging time.
“Science subject leaders, their colleagues, headteachers, children, parents and governors should be very proud.”
Mandy Heppinstall – science lead at Wilsden Primary, part of Focus Trust – said the school was delighted with the accreditation.
