TRIBUTE has been paid to customers at a Keighley building society for their support of a youth homelessness organisation.
The Low Street branch of the Yorkshire Building Society has raised £1,138 for End Youth Homelessness.
Since the society formed a national partnership with the movement three-and-a-half years ago, over 455 young people and 95 dependent children have been helped into their own rented homes.
The society says an estimated 110,000 young people in the UK were homeless or at risk of homelessness last year, including more than 2,000 in the Bradford district.
Keighley branch manager, Chloe Emmerson, said: “I want to thank everyone in the community who has supported our partnership with End Youth Homelessness.
“This has enabled us to help hundreds of homeless young people move into their own homes and provide them with the support they need to rebuild their future. We’ve helped young people to overcome some of the enormous financial barriers to living independently.”
