ANOTHER Worth Valley business has been shortlisted for a prestigious accolade.

Higher Scholes Cottage – at Pickles Hill, Oakworth – has been announced as a finalist in the Self-catering Accommodation of the Year category of the White Rose Awards.

It is up against five other contenders for the title.

Proprietor Cath O'Leary said she was "absolutely delighted".

"This is a truly high accolade for all the hard work and dedication we put into providing a five-star luxury experience for our guests," she added.

"We are a family-run business which has been going for 19 years, providing luxury accommodation and a first-class bespoke concierge service.

"We go the extra mile for all our guests."

Cath adds that next year the gold-accredited business, as part of its future plans, is looking to widen accessibility to provide for disabled guests.

There are 92 finalists in total in this year's White Rose Awards, across 17 categories.

Winners will be revealed at a ceremony to be held, in adherence with Covid-19 guidelines, later this year.

The awards are organised by marketing body, Welcome to Yorkshire, which has praised the standard of entries.
