A KEIGHLEY school has congratulated its students on "another great set of results".
Beckfoot Oakbank said year-13 pupils had excelled, in both A-levels and vocational Level 3 qualifications.
Nationally there has been anger after nearly 40 per cent of A-level grades awarded today were lower than teachers' predictions.
In England, 36 per cent of entries had a lower grade than teachers predicted and three per cent were down two grades, in results after exams were cancelled by the pandemic.
But at Beckfoot Oakbank, bosses said the results built on the "positive trend" of last year and that all the students should be proud of their achievements.
The average grade for A-level courses was C+ and for BTEC students, a distinction.
More students than ever have won places at top universities.
Headteacher, Tina Smith, said: "2020 is a year that none of us will forget.
"The hard work that these students have put in over the last seven years at school – and especially over the last two – has been recognised.
"We have a high number of students leaving to take-up university places and all of them have got into where they need to be or on the course they want to do.
"The students and staff have worked incredibly hard and in a difficult situation and all should feel very proud.
"This is another great set of results which gives the students real future life chances. We would like to say a huge 'well done' to all of the year-13 students and we wish them well on their next steps."
