GOOD causes in Keighley and across the district have received more than £1.6 million from a supermarket giant’s charitable foundation since it was launched five years ago.
The figure was revealed as the Morrisons Foundation celebrated its anniversary.
In the Bradford district, the foundation has provided nearly 70 donations since it was established. Beneficiaries have included Prism Youth Project and The Cellar Trust.
Nicola McGuinness, community champion at Morrisons’ Keighley store, said: “I’m really proud that the foundation has given grants to so many worthwhile charities throughout Bradford and the surrounding areas.
“In the past five years, these charities have made a big difference locally – from providing care to the elderly and people with complex needs, to donating books to schools on World Book Day.
“Recently the foundation also supported homelessness charities through the Covid-19 Homeless Support Fund.”
