PUPILS at a Keighley dance school will begin their post-Covid life at a new purpose-built studio.

The Infinity Dance Academy will in October open its doors at a new base on the Airedale Trading Park in Steeton.

Existing pupils will soon return to in-person lessons with academy principal Caroline Fallis-Taylor after several months of learning online.

There will be lessons for children in ballet, tap, musical theatre, jazz and acrotrix, as well as drama, and Caroline's specialism of street dance.

There will also be dance-based fitness classes for adults, and the large premises will have a dedicated party room to offer "fun and energetic" party packages, Just Dance Parties and Nerf Battles.

The studio will open on October 24, with classes resuming on October 26 and a Performing Arts Camp throughout the October-half term.

Caroline founded the Academy in 2017 after 17 years as a teacher of dance, and many years as a performer and professional choreographer.

She began her career as principal of the Yorkshire Dance Academy in Clayton, Bradford, and more recently was teacher of dance at Dixons Trinity Academy.

Caroline has had professional training in many genres of dance, including at the Royal Academy Of Dance and the Imperial Society Of Teachers Of Dance (ISTD). She is an accredited teacher for the ISTD and the United Dance Organisation, which has a world-renowned Street Dance syllabus.

Caroline said her mission was to help people find their "inner dancer", providing students of all levels with not just dance classes, but a unique experience in which the student can grow both mentally and physically as a dancer.

A spokesman said Caroline wanted to create a safe haven for dance at the new studios, and all necessary Covid-19 precautions would be followed.

The spokesman added: "As a result of Covid, Caroline continued to teach lessons to her Infinity students completely free via Zoom to keep the continuity and training available for the Infinity children.

"Caroline has a passion for uniting people through dance and believes in giving back to our community to make dance accessible for all.

"As a result she will be holding auditions at the studios to offer children with or without dance experience the opportunity to learn one dance style which is suitable, free for one year. There are five free places on offer at the studios. Auditions will be held shortly after opening."
