Coppice Pond at St Ives is fishing well for small silvers, with one member reporting a net of over seventy roach and rudd on Sunday evening.

Rivers seem to have improved after last week's rain, with trout, grayling and the odd barbel being caught on the River Aire.

Saturday's match on the canal, which was affected by the wind and rain, was won by B. Mason with 2lb 12oz.

P. Smith and R. Thorne were joint second with 1lb 9oz. J. Mason came fourth with 1lb 8oz, while E. Harrison and P. Mossit finished joint fifth.

Tomorrow's match for the RAF Wings Appeal is on the Kirkstall Marina length of the canal.

LEEDS & DISTRICT A.S.A.

The result of the Saturday match saw R. Foster win it with 22lb 11oz, while P. Austin was second with 9lb 9oz.

The annual match was won by W. Collier with 8lb 7oz and C. Turbit finished second with 8lb.

The delegates meetings have been suspended until it is safe to hold them once more.

Sport on the club's stillwaters has been affected by the weather.
