A KEIGHLEY engineering firm has received a coveted accolade.
MKN Engineering was among the winners in this year’s prestigious UK Enterprise Awards.
It was named Best Textiles Mechanical Engineering Company.
MKN, based in Marley Street, was founded in 2010 by Mark Newton.
It manufactures textile machinery – including bespoke machines for rolling and inspecting fabrics, cutting and measuring.
Other services the company offers include welding, machining and fabrication.
Mr Newton said everyone at the firm was delighted to receive the award and that it was testament to the hard work of the team. Working alongside him are Steve Hughes, Mark Barker and his wife Karen Newton.
“We were put forward for the award by a customer,” said Mr Newton.
“It’s a fantastic achievement for us to win the award and is down to the hard work of our small team.”
