A COMMUNITY speed watch is planned tomorrow (Sept 15) in a South Craven village.
Residents are teaming-up with police for the operation in Cononley.
The initiative is one of 18 planned across North Yorkshire.
It is part of Project EDWARD, a Europe-wide road safety initiative to highlight and prevent road deaths.
Jamie Smith, of North Yorkshire Police’s Traffic Bureau, said: “Community speed watch groups do a very important job and we’re extremely grateful to everyone who gives-up their time to support this valued work.
“We bring together police resources, tactics and teams alongside these groups to pack a real punch against speeding and other dangerous road use.”
The groups have equipment to monitor speeds and work with police to pass on information which could see drivers being prosecuted.
