PLANS to turn a mill in the middle of a residential street into houses will go before a planning committee this week.
Carlton Mills is a long-empty industrial building in Carlton Street, Haworth.
Earlier this year, Taylor Roche Ltd submitted a planning application to convert the building into four ‘back to back’ two-bed homes, and members of Bradford Council’s regulatory and appeals committee will discuss the plans at an online meeting on Thursday.
A total of 22 people have objected to the plans, saying there was a lack of parking on the street and that existing residents would prefer just two houses, not four.
Planning officers have pointed out that homes would generate less traffic and require fewer parking spaces than if the building reopened for industrial use. Members have been advised to approve the plans.
