KEIGHLEY motorists who use Bingley bypass are being asked to come forward if they witnessed an incident earlier this week.
Police say a teenager was walking across a footbridge spanning the A650 at about 5pm on Monday (Sept 14) when he was shouted at and then assaulted by a man.
Two passers-by went to the aid of the male victim.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
The incident happened on the Britannia Street/Ferncliffe Road footbridge in Bingley.
Detective Inspector Claire Smith said: “Thankfully the victim didn’t suffer any serious injuries but was understandably distressed.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who saw the incident to come forward. It is likely that vehicles travelling along the A650 may have witnessed this.
"I am particularly keen to track down a female who came to the assistance of the teenager.”
Anyone able to help should contact the police on 101, quoting crime reference 13200462171.
Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
