FORMER Bradford Bulls star Ethan Ryan has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken scaphoid.
Twenty-four-year-old winger Ryan, who joined Hull KR at the end of 2019, suffered the hand injury in the East Yorkshire side's 48-18 Challenge Cup defeat to Leeds at the weekend.
Coach Tony Smith said: “He’ll most likely need an operation so, whereas originally we thought he would be out for six weeks, it will probably be more, so that will be Ethan’s season done.
“It’s a real blow for a young guy who made his way into the first grade team and was holding his own.”
Ryan, who was born in Halifax but is a product of Bradford's much vaunted academy system, broke into the first team in 2016, and went on to score an extraordinary 89 tries in 98 appearances for Bulls.
