A MEMBER of the finance team at Airedale Hospital has won a national award.
Amy Denning, a finance manager with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, was named Team Player of the Year in the Future-Focused Finance Awards.
She received her accolade in a virtual ceremony.
The success marks a double celebration for the team, which has also recently gained a Future-Focussed Finance Level 1 accreditation.
Tribute was paid to Amy – who lives at Steeton – for going 'above and beyond' to bring the team together digitally during lockdown, despite having just started in her role when the pandemic began.
She said she was "completely gobsmacked but very proud" to win the award.
Amy Whitaker, interim executive director of finance at the health trust, said: "I am so pleased that Amy won this award, it is incredibly well deserved.
"Amy got a new role just as the Covid pandemic hit and the team all had to start working from home. Despite this she has worked tirelessly, not only to do her own job to an incredible standard but to ensure that the whole finance team is well supported. She is an absolute credit to the department."
