A man was arrested after a huge amount of suspected heroin was found inside a terraced house during an early morning raid.

Officers from the Pendle taskforce executed a search warrant at a house on Regent Street in Nelson just before 7am on Wednesday.

A video posted on social media shows three taskforce officers armed with a battering ram, smash the front door of a property, before it is seemingly opened from the inside by an occupant.

The police then make their way into the house shouting "police with a search warrant, stay where you are".

A spokesperson for the police said a significant amount of drugs were found inside the property and a man was arrested.

The spokesperson said: "This morning the Pendle taskforce have executed a search warrant at an address in Nelson.

"A significant amount of suspected class A drugs, believed to be heroin have been located, and a 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

"He remains in custody.

"We will continue to target those who are involved in the supply of drugs across Pendle, which will no doubt make Pendle a safer place."
