IT’S all aboard for a spook-tacular Halloween.

Trick or treating may have bitten the dust this year due to Covid-19.

But people can still get into the spirit of the occasion.

Rail Story at Ingrow is staging a spine-tingling event.

And Keighley Business Improvement District (BID) has come-up with a range of suggestions for themed activities people can get their teeth into.

Rail Story’s museums at Ingrow West Station are undergoing a terrifying transformation.

Alexandra Haley and Jack Stockdale – from Carriage Works – and Matt Arnold, of the Engine Shed, donned their creepiest outfits to carry out a makeover.

And on Saturday, October 31 – Halloween itself – a special story bus will take to the roads.

Eden Ballantyne will tell some lighthearted spooky tales via the bus tannoy system.

The family-friendly bus is scheduled to depart from Ingrow West at 11am, noon, 1.15pm and 2.15pm.

Passengers can pay what they choose for the journey – there is no set charge.

Booking is essential so that social distancing guidelines can be adhered to.

Seats are available on the covered lower deck or the upper deck, which is open.

In addition, Eden will be reading a Halloween story on his Facebook page – Stories Alive – at 10am that Saturday.

Should any change in Government Covid restrictions mean the bus can’t run, all stories will be moved online.

Keighley BID would normally be staging its annual Creepy Keighley Halloween-themed event that weekend, but it has been cancelled.

However, BID manager Paul Howard says there are many other ways children and adults can have fun.

He added: “Whilst it’s regretful that we’re unable to proceed with our annual Creepy Keighley event, we’d still like to see people find new and creative ways to enjoy themselves.

“Families have always been at the forefront of our events and we’d like to encourage people to have fun at home, whilst supporting your local businesses.”

His comments are echoed by Melanie Beaumont, of Sequins Fancy Dress in Keighley.

“It’s unfortunate about the current restrictions as Halloween is normally our best and most fun time of the year,” she said.

“We’d love to see people still keep the magic alive, even if we can’t party like we used to!”

BID’s suggestions include:

* Dress up! Children and adults can still let their imaginations run wild

* Candy Hunt around the house. Take a cue from the Easter bunny and hide sweet treats and toys around the house

* Halloween Quiz. Compile a list of questions and answers based on your favourite spooky films, TV shows or books

* Pumpkin carving. Find stencils and inspiration online and let your imagination take over

* Family-friendly outings. Check out Keighley Picture House when it reopens on October 30 or the Harry Potter themed afternoon tea at the Wellbeing Lounge
