WITH many Diwali celebrations going online this year, a long-standing member of the Bradford Hindu community is asking everyone to remember the elderly who may feel isolated by the national lockdown.
Many services for Diwali on Saturday will be digital and Manoj Joshi, a long-standing member of the Bradford Hindu community, said: "This will impact more on the elderly and vulnerable who are not allowed to go out are not as proficient with technology.
"You can't go and see people not in your bubble. But many of the elderly live on their own and can't mix with others.
"The young and the fit in the Hindu community need to reach out to the old and vulnerable.
"They could ring them or set up a video call to ensure they do not feel left out."
