GLUSBURN Community Primary School has been awarded the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Silver Award.
It is granted by UNICEF to schools that embed children’s rights in its policies, practice and ethos.
Headteacher Richard Hunt said: “It was acknowledged that we promote both knowledge and understanding of the ‘Rights’ throughout our school community and each other; making a difference to the wider community. Our children increasingly see themselves as rights respecting global citizens and advocate fairness and justice for children the world over.
“Thank you to Governors, staff, parents and the Y6 UNICEF Team.
“A special thank you to Mrs Ashton for leading the school towards this award; a real asset to our school and an ambassador of our values.”
