CAROL singing is being taken to people’s doorsteps in Steeton and Eastburn.
With traditional carol services scuppered this year due to the pandemic, churches in the villages are combining to offer some doorstep seasonal cheer.
Invitations are being posted through letterboxes for householders to enjoy a visit to their street by six socially-distanced carollers, with music. They will come to your door to sing two carols.
Visits are taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting next week and finishing on December 22, at 7pm or 7.30pm.
“Carol services may be on hold this year but we still wanted some of that festive cheer,” said a spokesman.
There is also a national doorstep carols venture, on December 16 and 20 at 6pm. Visit doorstepcarols.co.uk for details.
At St Stephen’s Church, Steeton, this year there will be Holy Communion at 11.15pm on Christmas Eve and at 10am on Christmas Day. Space is limited – to book a place email docno2020@gmail.com.
