THE Rugby Football League have confirmed they are in negotiations around a 'rental opportunity' for Odsal next year, and discussions for Bradford Bulls to return to their spiritual home are ongoing.
It is widely assumed this will see stock car racing restored at the stadium after Bulls and the RFL agreed in principle promoter's Steve Rees’ proposal to bring the sport back from next Easter, for the first time in over 20 years.
The RFL believe it will bring 'much-needed activity and revenue' for them, as well as increasing Bradford's rugby league pull.
Their statement read: "Following their meeting today, the RFL Board have agreed that the executive should continue discussion with the club regarding a return to Odsal and in addition the executive were instructed to proceed with negotiations around a rental opportunity for Odsal Stadium from 2021, on the basis it would provide much-needed activity on the site as well as revenue for the RFL – and also offered considerable potential for the city of Bradford."
