A KEIGHLEY salon is launching an initiative to help children who struggle with the haircut experience.
Hairavanti has produced a video which provides a tour of its salon, explains what’s used – including personal protective equipment – and introduces the barber or stylist the youngster will meet.
The video will be sent to the customer prior to their first appointment.
Stefania Risidi – for Hairavanti, in Cavendish Street – said: “I believe this will benefit children with learning disabilities and help them access a service which otherwise they may find difficult.
“Some children struggle with the hair-cutting experience but they deserve to have a ‘happy hair cut’ just like everyone else.
“Before Covid we had planned to start a monthly session where parents could bring their children to the salon to get to know us, but of course those plans were stalled so we have instead created the video.”
