PASSERS-by raised the alarm over a manhole fire this morning.
Firefighters from Keighley were called to the scene, on South Street, at around 8am, when people noticed smoke.
Watch commander Ahsan Ali said it was an underground fire involving high power electrics, so Northern Powergrid were called out.
Firefighters made the scene safe until they arrived, and the electrics for the whole area were isolated.
It's understood Northern Powergrid were still working at the scene this evening.
