ALDI'S planned new Keighley store is set to get the go-ahead.

The £10 million scheme goes back before councillors this Thursday – with a recommendation that it be approved.

Aldi wants to build a new supermarket on the long-derelict East Parade site, to replace its current store in Gresley Road.

The proposal also includes another large retail unit, a drive-through coffee shop and smaller shops.

When the scheme was discussed by Bradford Council's regulatory and appeals committee in November, officers voiced concerns over the design.

The planning application was deferred so that changes could be made.

Now a revised design, featuring more landscaping and improved pedestrian links between the site and East Parade/Coney Lane, is going before the committee – with approval recommended.
