A FORMER international footballer from Keighley says he is delighted with the response to his autobiography.

The Impossible is Possible – Keep Right On til the End of the Road tells the story of the life and career of Mike Hellawell – who made over 170 appearances for Birmingham City in the 1950s and 60s and played for England, including around the victorious World Cup squad of 1966.

His top-flight career also included stints with QPR, Sunderland and Huddersfield Town.

“I’ve had a lot of positive feedback about the book and it’s selling particularly well in Birmingham,” says Mike.

He pays tribute to Ronnie Preston, who was heavily involved in bringing the book to fruition. “Ronnie instigated the project and put in a huge amount of work,” says Mike.

The book is available on eBook, at £4, or in paperback – for £6 – from Amazon.
