YORKSHIRE Cat Rescue has received a £2,000 boost.
The donation is from Support Adoption For Pets, the grant-giving animal charity.
Pets at Home founded the charity, and Yorkshire Cat Rescue is partnered with the retailer’s Keighley store.
Last year, through the partnership, Yorkshire Cat Rescue was given just over £1,000.
The latest donation is to support the cat cause as it, like other charities, battles against the financial impact of the pandemic.
In total, Support Adoption For Pets is giving away nearly £600,000 to rescue centres across the country.
Its charity manager, Amy Angus, said: “I know the £2,000 donation that we surprised Yorkshire Cat Rescue with meant the world to it.
“The impact of Covid-19 has been monumental and rescue centres continue to fall under real pressure.
“We’re reaching out to provide them with much-needed financial help and to do our best to ensure that abandoned pets are given a second chance of happiness.
“Not only have we surprised rescues with nearly £600,000 but we have also increased our emergency grant programme by £400,000 so that rescues can apply for funding during these difficult times.”
