KEIGHLEY Soroptimists have planted trees to help celebrate the centenary of their organisation.

They joined with the Aire Rivers Trust for the session, near Silsden.

“These trees contribute to the celebratory 100 Soroptimist International of Keighley will be planting,” said a group spokesman.

The trust says planting trees alongside rivers and becks helps reduce flooding and enhances biodiversity. Nick Milsom, for the trust, said: “This supports our efforts to improve the river for everyone’s benefit. In ‘normal times’ we run volunteer events twice a week.”
