A FORMER Keighley man has been appointed president-elect of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers.
Adam Binns, who lived at Utley, emigrated to Dunedin with his wife Lynne in 2004.
The ex-pupil of Ermysted’s Grammar School at Skipton had spent eight years working for Dacre, Son & Hartley before gaining a first-class honours degree in urban land management from De Montfort University, Leicester. He qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2002 and worked in property roles in London and Leeds.
After moving to New Zealand he became a registered valuer in 2007 and then shortly afterwards achieved an ambition when he jointly founded a valuation firm, Adam Binns Commercial Limited.
He and Lynne have two sons – Callum, 15, and Sam, 12.
Outside of work, Adam is a bass guitarist with band Before the Snooze, a keen photographer and an avid supporter of Burnley FC.
