WORLD Book Day – on Thursday (March 4) – is being celebrated online by the district’s libraries service.
Primary schools will enjoy two story performances and workshops with Gemma Curry, of Hoglets Theatre. The events will be shown live simultaneously to pupils in school and at home. There will also be an after-school family story session. At 4pm there will be a creative writing workshop for seven-to-nine-year-olds.
Throughout the month, a free book is being given to youngsters with children’s ‘order and collect’ requests, while stocks last.
There is also a host of resources at worldbookday.com.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s executive member for healthy people and places, said: “World Book Day, like so many special events, will be different this year but we are still determined to celebrate and get children passionate about books and reading.”
