BUSINESSES in the district could be eligible for restart grants to help them safely reopen as lockdown restrictions ease.

But Bradford Council, which administers the Government grant, says businesses need to complete and return application forms by Sunday, April 11.

The council is emailing businesses which were awarded a so-called local restrictions support grant (LRSG) in January, inviting them to apply for the new one-off payment.

Businesses that didn’t receive an LRSG at the start of the year, but think they may be eligible for a restart grant, will be able to apply later this month.

“The funding is designed to support businesses as we follow the Government’s plan to move out of national lockdown and into the next phase of managing the pandemic – with eligible businesses receiving the one-off grant to help them to reopen safely,” said a spokesman.
