PEOPLE across the Keighley district go to the polls on May 6.

The election candidate line-up is now confirmed.

And in two Keighley wards – Central and West – plus Bingley Rural, no fewer than nine contenders in each will be battling for your vote to secure a place on Bradford Council, which is currently Labour-controlled.

Some town council elections also take place that day and people will be asked to vote for West Yorkshire's first mayor.

And there are neighbourhood plan referendums in Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury, plus Steeton with Eastburn and Silsden.

In South Craven, people will be voting to elect a North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.

There is also a parish council election, in Cowling.
