ANCHOR Hanover – which runs Townend Close care home, at Cross Hills – has received a prestigious honour for the second year running.
The group has once again been named Large Residential Care Provider of the Year in the LaingBuisson Awards.
The awards scheme celebrates excellence in UK health and social care services – across the public, private and third sector.
Anchor Hanover was recognised for its “innovation and engagement with residents” and judges cited its use of the virtual cycling platform Memoride, a pedal exerciser which generates an image of a town onto a screen using Google Maps.
Cath Holmes, director of care quality at Anchor Hanover, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the LaingBuisson Large Residential Care Provider of the Year award.
“The last year has been a challenging time for everyone and our colleagues have worked tirelessly to ensure residents continue to receive the highest levels of care throughout the pandemic.
“We are delighted that their work has been recognised.”
