LEDGARD & Wynn was a popular high quality furniture store in Skipton and not too far into our distant past.

In fact the store only closed in 2008, having moved from the high street into High Corn Mill around 20 years earlier.

Its owner, Bryan Preston, blamed out-of-town superstores and the ‘flood of cheap, mass-produced goods from China’ as the main reason for its demise.

We are not sure what date this photo was taken or who the gentleman is standing outside, but the store was advertising its showrooms filled with Christmas gift stock as well as furniture and Slumberland products.

It also provided work for several people in town who have fond memories.
