MY Foster Family (MFF), in partnership with the Bradford Foundation Trust (BFT) and Bradford Council Children Services, has sent over 100 Eid gifts and food packs to care leavers.

Last week, people from all faiths and backgrounds, including our reporter Rowan Newman, participated in Fast Friday.

Over £600 was generated allowing gifts and food to be delivered to Bradford Council and a care residential home in the city.

MFF and BFT would like to thank MyLahore, Cafe Regal, Kanapeena Supermarket, Living Islam, itc., and Mir Solicitors for their kind contributions.

Mark Douglas, Bradford Council's Director of Children’s Services, said: “I would like to thank Bradford Foundation Trust and its partners for thinking about our care leavers and providing them Eid parcels.

"Eid is a special time and marks the end of Ramadan, which for many of the districts residents is celebrated with family and friends.

"I am delighted that our young people can celebrate this important time through the ongoing support and generosity of the Trust.”

Meanwhile, BFT have also raised an amazing £63,949, through people getting involved in Ramadan challenges, for the Bradford Crisis Fund, which supports asylum seekers and refugees in the city.

Shadim Hussain, CEO of My Foster Family and board member at Bradford Foundation Trust, and his daughter contributed to £8,105 of that total by cycling 10km a day and running 100km this past month.
