A RUGBY club has applied to sell alcohol at its base.

Keighley Albion ARLFC, based at Crossflatts Cricket Club, Keighley Road, Bingley, has applied to Bradford Council for a licence to sell alcohol between 11am and 11pm.

Representations surrounding the application should be made in writing to the Licensing Team, Argus Chambers, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1HX, by June 27.

Bradford Council has issued a number of notices regarding forthcoming road closures due to resurfacing and work by utility companies.

Water works will mean the closure to traffic of Back Grove Road from its junction with Cunliffe Road to a point at the rear of WH Smith. This order will be in place from 8am today until 6pm on Friday June 11.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, but no alternative routes for vehicles affected by the proposed order will be available.

Resurfacing works to be carried out on or near the junction of Harrogate Road in Bradford will mean traffic is not allowed to proceed along Pullan Avenue and Victoria Road from point closures at the junction of Harrogate Road. This order will be in place between 8pm and 5am on Wednesday June 9 and Thursday June 10. Pedestrians will still be able to use the route. Alternative routes for traffic affected by the order will be along Victoria Road (the unaffected section), Stony Lane, Stone Hall Road, Bolton Road, Leeds Road, Harrogate Road and vice versa, and Pullan Avenue (the unaffected section), Bolton Road, Leeds Road, Harrogate Road and vice versa.

Resurfacing will also result in the closure of Gain Lane to traffic from its junction with Leeds Road to a point outside number 252 Gain Lane. This will be in force from 8am to 6pm on Thursday June 10 and Friday June 11. The road works will not restrict access for pedestrians.

Alternative routes for traffic affected will be via Gain Lane (the unaffected section), Intake Road, Fagley Road, Killinghall Road, Leeds Old Road, Leeds Road and vice versa.

Water works to be carried out on or near James Street, Thornton, will necessitate the closure of James Street from its junction with Thornton Road, to its junction with George Street, from 7pm until 9.30pm on Tuesday June 8. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Electrical works on or near Market Street, Thornton will mean that Market Street from its junction with High Street to its junction with Sapgate Lane, will be closed to traffic until 6pm on Friday July 2. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the order will be via Market Street (the unaffected section), Green Lane, Thornton Road, Kipping Lane and vice versa.

Electrical works to be carried out on or near Bolton Road, Addingham means a road closure along Bolton Road, from a point outside Fairfield Cottages to a point outside Friends Meeting House. This will be in force until 6pm tomorrow.

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the order will be via Bolton Road (the unaffected section), A59, A65 Addingham Wharfedale Road, Silsden Road, Main Street and vice versa.

Pedestrians will still be able to use the route.
