KEIGHLEY householders are being warned to be extra vigilant with the onset of warmer weather.
West Yorkshire Police say this time of year traditionally sees a rise in sneak-in burglaries as intruders take advantage of open doors and windows.
A spokesman said: "With the weather picking-up and the evenings getting warmer and longer, there can be a temptation to leave windows open overnight, or patio doors open whilst elsewhere in the house.
"This presents an easy opportunity for someone to sneak in and take your valuables when you least expect it.
"Unfortunately we still see insecure-entry burglaries far too often. They can all be very easily avoided by simply keeping all entry points locked."
