A NEW online catalogue system for the district’s libraries service goes live next Thursday (June 24).

Bradford Council says library customers will notice a different, improved look from the previous system.

The catalogue enables people to search for books, reserve and renew items and check their accounts.

There is also a free service that can translate words between English and over 100 other languages.

Customers can continue to use the same library card and loan periods will remain unchanged.

People are able to borrow up to 20 books, in addition to e-books and e-audio books.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, the council’s executive member for healthy people and places, said: “We are looking forward to introducing our library customers to the new, improved online catalogue system which will hopefully enhance their experience when using the library.”
