SOME hanging baskets could be lost from Keighley town centre due to a lack of sponsorship.
Backers have come forward for four of the floral displays in North Street and Cavendish Street.
But gardener Steve Thorpe is warning that without more sponsors, as many as a dozen baskets may have to be removed and sold.
“I put-up the baskets thinking we wouldn’t have a problem finding businesses willing to sponsor them,” said Steve. “Four sponsors have come forward and I’m extremely grateful to them, but we desperately need more.
“It hasn’t been an easy year or so for a lot of smaller businesses, but perhaps bigger retailers such as supermarkets which have done OK could help out.”
The cost is £100 a basket, which includes all maintenance throughout the summer.
Businesses interested in offering sponsorship can contact Steve on 07969 658743 or gardening@steve-thorpe.co.uk.
