KEIGHLEY people have been thanked for the part they’ve played in helping a retailer raise more than £24,000 for a charitable cause.

Customers of Flooring Superstore were invited to make donations at the company’s branches – including the outlet at Alston Retail Park in Keighley – and online, with all contributions being match funded.

Proceeds are for the Woodland Warrior Programme, which provides outdoors activities to help members of the armed forces and emergency services and key workers cope with stress and mental health issues.

Flooring Superstore broke through its £20,000 target – and money is still coming in.

Activities supported included workshops for key workers on the frontline during the pandemic.

Ian Robinson, Flooring Superstore’s regional manager, said the company was delighted to support the programme. He added: “We would like to thank all our customers who gave so graciously for such an amazing initiative.”
