SILSDEN Moor farmer Simon Bennett staged the first part of a dispersal sale of his commercial Limousin and Blue-x suckler herd as part of Skipton Auction Mart’s latest fortnightly Wednesday cattle fixture.
Of the 48 cow-and-calf outfits in the sale, the top ones sold for £3,200, £3,100 and £2,900.
In addition, a Limousin stock bull from the same home made £2,900.
Mr Bennett, who regularly has prize winners at the mart’s monthly prime cattle shows, is due to sell a second dispersal consignment shortly.
