A SINGER-songwriter will be in South Craven next month as he aims to complete a mammoth challenge – 40 marathons and 40 gigs in 40 days!
Charles Costa – known as King Charles – begins in John O’Groats on July 25, with his final destination Land’s End.
He aims to raise £100,000 for the youth and community charity, Regenerate.
Charles will be joined on his Feel Good Jog challenge – in person or virtually – by friends and a small crew from Regenerate.
At the end of each day, he will perform a gig.
Charles said: “I’m so excited about this challenge – I’ve wanted to take it on for some time.
“Lockdown has been a feeding ground for anxiety, loneliness and depression. Running has always helped me find an escape.
“And the work of Regenerate is very real. The stories I’ve heard of lives being changed are beautiful.”
Charles will come through South Craven on August 14, when he completes a leg between Hetton and Hebden Bridge.
