PUPILS and staff at a Keighley-district secondary school had lessons licked.

Everyone at Parkside, in Cullingworth, has received a free 99 ice cream.

Students at the school who achieve a 100 per cent attendance rate are normally rewarded annually with the ice cream treat.

But this year, due to the massive impact on schools of the pandemic, the ‘thank you’ was extended.

“This year – due to the pandemic – it wasn’t possible for any student to achieve a 100 per cent attendance rate,” said a school spokesperson. “As everyone has had a very tough year, we arranged for all students and staff to have a free ice cream.

“More than 600 ice creams were served over three days, by our usual ice cream man – Nazish Amin. It was funded from the Parkside Parents’ Association reward budget.”
